Robert K. Weirauch 86, of Valrico, Florida passed away July 3, 2010. Bob was the eldest of three brothers: Robert, Walter, and Donald. Like their father, Walter A. Weirauch, they became Master Bricklayers and helped build some of Michigan’s finest factories, schools, and churches. During WW-II Bob served in the Army Engineers. During pre-deployment training he met his future wife, Sophia Sadlowski, in St. Louis, MO, and wrote to her throughout his tours in the jungles of New Guinea and the Philippine Islands. They were married shortly after the end of the war and his return to the States, and their only daughter, Roberta, was born a year later in Saginaw, MI.
Bob continued to work as a bricklayer/stonemason while his wife operated a successful children’s clothing business In Gladwin, MI. Eventually, they retired to a home they built in Naples, FL, where they lived until 1996, finally settling in Valrico, FL, close-by their daughter’s family. Bob’s beloved wife of nearly 62 years passed away in December 2007.
Bob is survived by his brother Don Weirauch of Colorado Springs, CO, and his daughter Roberta Mogilewicz of Valrico, FL, along with Roberta’s husband Jeff and four grandchildren: Alex Mogilewicz (Mililani, HI), Angela Bailey (Gardendale, AL), Janna Mogilewicz (Brandon, FL), and David Mogilewicz (Brandon, FL). He also leaves three great-granddaughters, Elizabeth, Sara, and Julianna Bailey.
A Memorial Mass will be offered at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 15, 2010 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Chruch, Seffner, Florida. Burial at Florida National Cemetery. |
