Flora Mailhot Keller, of Riverview FL, died on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, following a long illness. She was 76.

Born Flora Frances Mailhot on August 1, 1933 in Mystic, Connecticut, daughter of the late Theodore J. and Loretta LaMothe Mailhot, Flora graduated with a Bachelors Degree in English Literature from St. Joseph College in West Hartford, CT, and a Masters Degree from Western Connecticut State College. An English teacher for most of her life, Flora taught at Brookfield High School for 27 years, retiring in 1992. Declining health following heart surgery prompted her decision to move to Riverview to be closer to daughter Susan Bullock and family.

Flora Frances Mailhot Keller will be remembered for her sharp intelligence and quick wit, her kindness and compassion, and her unwavering ability to deal with anything life handed to her.

In addition to daughter Susan Patricia, is survived by son-in-law Jeffrey N. Bullock, granddaughter Chelsea Bullock and grandson Chase Bullock of Riverview; grandson Nicholas Standt of Point Pleasant, NJ; granddaughter Alexis Fiandra of New Milford; sisters Annette Swan of Niantic, CT and Adele Register of Bartlesville, OK; several nieces and nephews, “adopted” daughter Cynthia McCorkindale of Bethel, CT, and beloved cat, Sassy. Mrs. Keller was predeceased by her husband, Stuart P. Keller, and daughter, Nicole Denise.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 13, at 11:00 in at Serenity Meadows Funeral Home, Riverview.
